Your Story in God's Story

Are you a compelling storyteller with the ability to draw people in with your personal experiences? Do you have a knack for building relationships and connecting with others? If so, you may resonate with Matthew 9, where Matthew, a Christ follower, invited all his friends - tax collectors and sinners - to a dinner party with Jesus. He used his social connections to create a space for people to encounter Jesus.

If you're a people person who values friendship, enjoys meaningful conversations, and has a warm, compassionate nature, you have a great opportunity to be on mission with God.

But sometimes, we can get caught up in telling our story and forget to emphasize God's story. It's a reminder to keep Christ at the center of our narrative by adding current events or illustrations of how God is working in our lives.

Many of us can relate to feeling like our lives are a bit chaotic, much like the disciples who thought they were going to die in the storm while Jesus was asleep in the boat. However, it's important to remember that there is often an appointment on the other side of a storm.

Perhaps you've had a moment that changed the momentum of your life, where you surrendered your life to Jesus. For those of us who already know Jesus, there's an invitation to share what the Lord has done and how He has been merciful to us. Our personal encounters with God are powerful and qualify us to be used by Him.

We don't have to have it all together, know all the answers, or be perfect. The key is to show and tell people how God is transforming our lives. Each of us has a unique story of God's grace and transformation, and that story is incredibly powerful in what God wants to do through our lives.

So, as we continue our journey, let's be open to being on mission for God. Whether it's through building relationships, having meaningful conversations, or simply sharing our experiences, we have the opportunity to be part of the story of seeing people reconciled to God.

Remember, as the Father has sent Jesus into the world, He also sends us. Let's embrace the beautiful opportunity of being part of someone's journey from darkness to light and being used by God in the lives of those around us.
