Is Something Essential Missing From Your Life?
Have you ever looked at your life and thought, “This should be working… but it’s just not”? Maybe your days are full, your relationships intact, your plans in motion—but something still feels off. Like a beautiful waffle missing sugar, or a well-kept car running on fumes, things look right, but don’t feel whole.
You're not alone.
From the outside, life can look polished. But on the inside, many believers feel like they’re grinding through the motions—striving but not thriving. Joy seems fleeting. Peace feels out of reach. Change seems slow or even impossible. Whether it's overcoming a persistent sin, trying to rekindle a dry marriage, or simply enduring the weight of everyday anxiety, something feels... missing.
But what if it’s not a thing you need—but a Who?
Jesus spoke of a gift—an essential one. He said:
“Do not leave Jerusalem, but wait for the gift my Father promised…” (Acts 1:4)
That gift is the Holy Spirit. Not a vague presence or mystical force, but the very Spirit of God—personal, powerful, and present. He’s not optional. He’s essential.
“You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you…” (Acts 1:8)
This isn’t power for showmanship. It’s power to live. Power to love when it’s hard. Power to be kind when you’re tired. Power to rise above anxiety. Power to overcome addiction. Power to speak life, to walk in peace, to change the world around you one Spirit-filled step at a time.
In Ezekiel’s vision, it says:
“Wherever the river flowed, everything will live.” (Ezekiel 47:9)
Where the Spirit flows, things come alive. Dreams awaken. Marriages are restored. Direction is found. Hope is revived. Not through effort alone—but through His presence within.
This isn't about hype or emotionalism. It's about surrendering daily to the Holy Spirit—the essential, empowering, expanding presence of God who wants to dwell in and move through you. He teaches, advocates, comforts, guides, strengthens, convicts, and transforms. And when He moves, nothing stays the same.
So if you feel like something’s missing… maybe it’s time to stop striving and start receiving.
Wait.
Ask.
Yield.
And watch the Spirit breathe life into what feels dry.
